Walk to the dunes, walk to the village
Henne Strand Resort sits at the edge of Blåbjerg plantation, a few hundred metres from both a huge West Jutland beach and the small pedestrian village of Henne Strand with its ice-cream shops, bakery and surf hire. The site is arranged around a central pool complex with slides and a heated outdoor pool, with quieter forest pitches ranged behind it. It suits families who want the beach but also want somewhere to walk to in the evening — a rarer combination on this stretch of coast than it sounds.
Value check: You pay for the pool complex; skip it in the shoulder season and the price drops sharply.

Not having to move the car for a week was the whole holiday for us. Ten minutes to the sand, eight minutes to the bakery. Pool was warm and clean every day.

Everything well maintained and the forest pitches are lovely and shaded. The pool area gets crowded between two and four — go early. Sanitary buildings were consistently clean.
