Skiveren liegt in der Dünenplantage zwischen Ålbæk und Skagen, mit einem breiten Sandstrand, nur wenige Gehminuten durch die Pinien entfernt. Es ist einer der größten und am besten ausgestatteten Campingplätze Dänemarks, doch seine Größe ist gut versteckt: Die Stellplätze liegen in geschützten Nischen, die aus dem Dünengestrüpp geschnitten sind, jeweils abgeschirmt durch Heidekraut und niedrige Pinien. Das Herzstück des Platzes ist der Poolbereich mit einem Innenpool, der den Urlaub weitergehen lässt, wenn der Nordseewind auffrischt, und einem wirklich großen Spielplatz. Skagen und das Zusammentreffen der beiden Meere bei Grenen sind nur eine kurze Autofahrt nördlich entfernt.

Two weeks and they never once asked what we were doing today. Beach in the morning, pool in the afternoon, ice cream, repeat. The dune pitches are properly sheltered which matters a lot on this coast.

It is a large site and in high season it is busy. That said, queues move, everything is clean, and the staff are unfailingly cheerful. Book a pitch away from the pool if you want quiet evenings.

Went in September with the dog. Half empty, indoor pool still open, huge empty beach for morning walks. Would come back at exactly this time of year.
