Denmark is famously flat, which makes these cliffs startling. Chalk laid down 70 million years ago rises to 128 m above a turquoise sea, with beech forest on top and fossil hunting on the shingle below. The 497-step Maglevandsfaldet stairway takes you down to the beach and, unavoidably, back up. The GeoCenter at the top explains the geology well and works as a rainy-day option. The area is also a Dark Sky Park.
