A Baltic peninsula with its own beaches, golf and dune forest
Wulfener Hals occupies an entire sandy peninsula on the south coast of Fehmarn, wrapped by beaches on both sides — one exposed and good for watersports, one sheltered and shallow. Pitches are scattered through a low dune forest rather than laid out in rows, which gives the whole place an oddly wild feel for a site with a golf course, riding stables, a spa and three restaurants. It is a long-established German institution, consistently well kept, and the reason many families have come to Fehmarn for three generations.
Value check: Mid-range price for a very large beachfront site — book the meadow pitches to stay at the low end.

My father brought me, I bring my children. It has modernised carefully — new sanitary buildings, better wifi — without losing the dune-forest character. Still the best beach camping in Germany for us.

Windsurfers on one side, toddlers paddling on the other, five minutes apart. Dog beach was clean and busy in the nicest way.

You will walk a lot otherwise. Prices in high season are steep and the best pitches go a year out. Off-season in June it was blissful and much cheaper.
