Baltic seaside resort camping, right behind the promenade
A tidy, sheltered site on the edge of the Baltic resort town of Kühlungsborn, separated from the beach by a strip of coastal woodland and a cycle path. It is a compact, well-organised place rather than a sprawling park: neat hedged pitches, a modern sanitary building, a small bistro and direct access to the seven-kilometre promenade. The Molli steam railway runs from town to Bad Doberan, and Rostock and Warnemünde are half an hour east.
Value check: Affordable for a German seaside site, and the town, beach and bike path are all walkable.

Walked to the beach every morning before breakfast. Site is small enough that you get to know your neighbours and clean enough that you never think about it.

The sea is the pool here, which was fine in August and would be less fine in cool weather. Loved the Molli steam train and the woodland cycle paths.

Proper dog beach section and plenty of forest walks straight from the gate. Off-season it is calm and half the price.
