At the foot of the Pulpit Rock trail, twenty-five minutes from the Lysefjord
A green, terraced site in the woods below the Preikestolen trailhead, close enough that many guests walk up rather than drive. It is a friendly, slightly rustic place: grass pitches among birch trees, a small lake for swimming when the sun cooperates, a sauna, and cabins that fill up months in advance. Stavanger and the ferry are forty minutes away, which makes it a workable first or last stop on a Norway trip. The trail itself starts 3 km uphill; the site runs an early shuttle in high season so you can be on the rock before the tour buses arrive.
Value check: Mid-range by Norwegian standards, and the saved driving time is worth real money on a short trip.
