Hilltop glamping above Garda, adults very much in mind
Set in the hills of the Valtenesi above the western shore of Lake Garda, Weekend is a small, design-led glamping resort rather than a traditional campsite. Accommodation is a mix of safari lodges, tree houses and a limited number of large pitches, spread through olive terraces with a long infinity-edge pool looking down the valley to the lake. There is a good restaurant, a wine cellar stocked from the surrounding Valtenesi estates and a spa cabin. Children are welcome but the tone is unmistakably grown-up.
Value check: A treat rather than a holiday base — no pitches, and the nightly rate is hotel-like.

A lodge with a proper bed, a deck, and a view over the olive terraces to the lake. Dinner on the restaurant terrace was one of the best meals of our year.

The infinity pool at eight in the morning with nobody else there is the memory we came home with. Staff are attentive without hovering.

It is up in the hills, so the lake is a ten-minute drive rather than a stroll. Perfectly fine — just don't expect a lakeside site. Expensive, and worth it for a special week.
